Couch Potato is slot game that has been made for those of us who enjoy lounging around in front of the TV.
In terms of age, this is one of the older slots created by Microgaming, but it’s still very much accessible on desktop devices, though not on mobile.
Retro is the best word to describe Couch Potato, which has the look and feel of a slot machine cabinet from the 1980s or 1990s.
The interface is small and compact, having been constructed with three reels and one row.
Symbols can land just off the lone payline that has been included, but those positions are not categorised as rows, as they cannot contribute to winning.
In terms of symbols, these are all of the long-running slot machine symbols, such as bars, 7s, and cherries.
The other fundamental portion of the design would be the paytable, which is plainly displayed rather than hidden away, as would be done in modern video slots.
This allows for players to see the different multipliers offered for each of the symbols.
For clarification, the 15,000x multiplier can be earned from three Couch Potato symbols.
Of course, this will require that players are wagering at the third tier of wagering, which is determined by the number of coins used – these start from €0.05 each and go up to €5.00.
For the most part, Microgaming’s retro slot machines are devoid of special features.
One of the only exceptions would be wild symbols, which do make an appearance in the Couch Potato slot.
The Couch Potato logo has been assigned as the wild and will carry the power to substitute when symbols are missing along the single payline.
There is a 5x bonus multiplier with one wild substituting, but two can add 25x.
As explained, Couch Potato is a retro slot machine that is low on special features.
At the same time, there is a lot of value to be gained whenever you are able to win with a wild symbol on the payline.
Beyond that, Couch Potato has a number of rewarding base game symbols, including the 7, 7-Bar, and 7-Any.
These can be most beneficial in a slot with a lofty 97.43% return to player threshold.
